What is Peroneal subluxation
January 29th, 2010 . by adminAnatomically our ankle is a complex structure. A number of joints are involved in the ankle joints, or rearfoot complex. There are lots of bones that are present in that rear foot complex. And a great number of tendons, ligaments, muscles, nerves and blood vessels cross the ankle joint. No doubt that there are lots of things that causes that can go wrong with the ankle when there are so many structures that are involved. The peroneal muscles are the muscles on the outside of the leg. The tendons pass on the outside of the ankle joint. They are responsible for stopping the ankle tipping over outwards. Sometimes these tendons do not attach very well and slip out of place. This is called peroneal subluxation.
