We were planning our stay in Barcelona, and discovered we really did not much about what was in Barcelona.  It goes without mention that we were pleasantly surprised to discover there were major art museums within a short cab ride of each other.  We wanted to be near the art museums and within walking distance of some of the other attractions, so began looking for a pleasant and inexpensive barcelona accommodation.  We found one that was listed as being  in the center of the city, and close to public transportation.  This left us more time to explore, and money to extend our stay in Barcelona.
